Alternative itineraries in Venice #italybest

by su marzo 26, 2012

Venice Guided ToursAbout 20 million of tourists invade Venice every year. The attractions, however, are always the same: Piazza San Marco, the Basilica, Palazzo Ducale, the Bridge of Sighs, Rialto, a church, a gondola ride, and so on the way back.
Sure it is easy doing profit by this immense river of people by creating an easy to use tourist offer of immediate perception. But in doing so we will not approve any personality and above all it demeans the true spirit of this city of ancient history.
Luckily there are those who want to stand out and create value, not only for himself but also for the city. Provide cultural opportunities for people interested in living different experiences, and perhaps pave the way for alternative tourism away from the classic mass tourism, that, in the end, leaves little benefit to both tour operators and, perhaps even less, to the tourists themselves who are carrying at most a few photos and a souvenir glass, without having minimally understood what Venice is.
To compensate for this deficiency has been present for some time now on the tourist market a Venetian operator who tries to go against the tide, offering visits and experiences to be lived that leave a strong mark on the memory of the visitor.
The name chosen outlines, in a rather clear way, its intent: The other Venice, alternative tours to visit Venice.

The tourist offer of “The other Venice” declines in a number of proposals:
Walking tours off the beaten path in search of hidden corners, of everyday stories of yesterday and today, to get closer to the true Venetian life, away from the usual stereotypes
Walks theme: “Music in Venice”, “History of Venetian cuisine”, “Courtesans in Venice”
Boat tours: “Rowing along the canals of Venice”, “Sailing in the lagoon”, “Fishing-tourism”, “Eco-boat with electric motor”
Culinary experiences: “Venetian dinners in private homes”, “Cooking Courses in Venice”

All proposals mentioned above are managed in collaboration with the Cultural Association ABCOnlus.

    Hi,

Recently I came across some great articles on your site. The other day, I was discussing ( https://italybest.wordpress.com/2012/03/26/alternative-itineraries-in-venice-italybest/) with my colleagues and they suggested I submit an article of my own. Your site is just perfect for what I have written! Would it be ok to submit the article? It is free of charge, of course!

    Regards,
    John Anderson
